Dear Visitor
I'm aware that some of you who are newer to Holy Trinity might not know Alida very well. Alida has been part of our family for about 10 years and from day one she threw herself into ministry here. If you want to have a Biblical understanding of retirement then look at the life of someone like her...caring, serving the saints, serving on church council, music ministry, ladies Christian home, transporting needy people, prayer co-ordinator, Bible study leader are some of the things she has been doing. Alida is in Somerset hospital beginning the slow process of recovering from a severe stroke which appears to have left the left side of her body disabled. Kagiso, Vuyani and I spent some time praying and going over some scriptures with her yesterday and we, along with all those who know her are deeply aware of how great a gift God has given us in this dear saint. Please continue in prayer for her and give thanks for a number of Christian doctors who are looking at ways to help her.
This Sunday morning we finish our series on the 10 commandments looking at what the words "Do not covet" mean for us as, particularly as we enter the Christmas season. At 5pm we end the John Piper series on the Bible looking at the question..."How can we justify the claim that the Bible is God's Word?'
Sunday the 12th at 7pm is our annual "Carols in the Garden" service. We have a great team of musicians and singers lined up and a great setting to invite friends and family who might not normally come to Church to enjoy the evening with us. There will be a short talk introducing the real Christ of Christmas.
