Dear Visitor
Ernest Elmes broke his shoulder yesterday, he is in Mediclinic and will have a shoulder replacement tommorow. Give thanks that his injuries were not worse, most of all give thanks for the great example of faithful Christian service that Ernest has shown for many decades, he is truly one of the most positive people I know with his eyes clearly set on following Christ.
Alida is still at the Booth hospital but the family are looking at moving her to the Ladies Christian home as soon as possible. Please continue in prayer for her, recovery is slow and difficult and discouragement and despondency common in these situations. Visits are are great encouragement to her.
While we have so many young families and younger people in our Church we have an increasing group of older Christians who bring with them a wealth of experience and Godliness. You may want to prayerfully consider ways in which you could be an encouragement and at the same time learn from these folk in our midst. Kati coordinates`regular meetings at Ladies Christian Home for instance, a place which cares for older ladies, why not talk with her about visiting there or spending time serving and blessing other older folk in our family at HT?...I would be very happy to introduce you to some very special people!
Christmas day 10 am...pray that the gospel would be clearly understood.
This is also the last day that the Carlson family will be with us as they head back to the US. They have had such an important role in organising the Lausanne congress and its success is largly due to Blairs hard work and vision, supported by his family Elizabeth, Megan and Ellie and the incredible administrative gifts of Carol Guenter. Please take time to thank them and pray for them.
Normal service on 26th where the focus will be on our response to Christ and His coming as we move into 2011.
Give thanks for the safe arrival of Emily Beth to Ant and Lynn, time to start thinking of a preschool and to talk about Christian education, so look out for some meetings in the new year!
A wonderful, joyous celebration of Christs birth!
